Predictions and Speculation: Aldnoah Zero and Shigatsu (SPOILERS)

Whenever I watch an anime, I love making predictions because it's fun to guess what might happen next and if you get it right you can brag to your friends forever. For example, I'm not sure how many people have read the manga Doubt, but I guessed the ending from about chapter 2 or 3. I've also guessed the true culprit of Danganronpa, so I'd say that when it comes to mysteries, I'm a pretty good guesser. So today I'd like to lend my "prophet powers" to 2 ongoing anime: Aldnoah/Zero 2nd Season and Shigatsu Wa Kimi no Uso.

This post will be talking about things that have happened in the series so SERIOUS SPOILERS WILL FOLLOW. SPOILER ALERT!

SPOILERS STOP HERE

Aldnoah/Zero 2nd Season
Ok let's start with Aldnoah/Zero's 2nd season. I'm not sure how many people expected Inaho, Asseylum, and Count Saazbaum to all be alive but I didn't. Usually when people are shot through the eye, shot in the head, and shot multiple times they don't tend to survive at all. Somehow they all do though Asseylum is the only one in a coma. I hope they explain how the hell that happened, though I guess i doesn't matter for Saazbaum since Slaine kills him later anyway after saving him. So now that Saazbaum is out of the picture and Slaine is now a Count since Saazbaum was an idiot and adopted him as his son, Slaine is a lot more OP than before. He is still extremely loyal to Asseylum though he brought her neglected sister Lemrina on board. He's trying to use her to pretend that she's Asseylum so that people still think she's alive but it's obviously going to backfire in his face, the only question is how and when.

The last episode left off with Count Marylician challenging Slaine to a duel for who gets the duty of protecting "Asseylum." Slaine will obviously win this duel but what happens afterwards is what will be interesting. I think that during this fiasco, they will find out that Lemrina is not the real Asseylum. The only question is how. I think it will happen after the battle. She might slip up and be unable to answer something that Asseylum could, undo her hologram accidentally after the artificial gravity is turned on, or they might discover the comatose Asseylum. My guess is that she'll be revealed as a fake after the gravity is turned on.

What happens after this is anyone's guess but I'm sure that Slaine will be found out. I think Lemrina might still cover for him after that since she still is technically royalty but Slaine definitely won't keep his position of Count or be held in such high regards.

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso

For Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, the biggest question is whether or not Kaori will die. After watching the anime, I feel confident in my prediction that Kaori will NOT die and I think this will definitely be a happy ending. Why do I think this? I'd love to say that it's my gut feeling from the atmosphere of the anime, but that wouldn't cut it so I'll try to explain as best as I can.
The entire anime is about growing up and Kousei does it in two ways.

Kousei's first growth starts after he meets Kaori and she forces him to be her accompanist. His entire life changes from that and his world begins to be filled with color. This is the first way which his life changes, it's the "happy way."

After that, his next growth happens again on the stage when he gets over his mother's death. That is arguably the biggest transformation for Kousei since he's blamed himself for his mother's death since the beginning and thinks that the reason he can't hear notes is due to the fact that she is punishing him. The way he is able to overcome this is mostly due to Kaori's influence but it's due mostly to him being able to accept the fact that his image of his late mother was violently warped into some kind of demon, obstructing his other memories of her. This is where he matures from tragedy and acceptance of it.

Hiroko says that for Kousei to improve again, he'll have to experience another tragedy but I think that it won't be Kaori's death. Of course that would be the obvious answer because she's sickly, he likes her, and he is greatly influenced by her, I think Kousei will mature even without her death. I say this because he has come to mature all thanks to Kaori just giving him a push not necessarily due to tragedy. So I think that the author might make a really dramatic turning point where Kaori is put in a life or death situation, but she'll come out on top most likely with a little help from Kousei who will reverse roles and give her hope.

I also think the anime is pushing the tragedy aspect too hard while trying to maintain a light hearted atmosphere where everyone is still laughing. The anime tries desperately to draw parallels between Kousei's mom and Kaori but all it shows is just how much Kousei has matured. As proof, he is able to play the piano by himself as an accompanist for Kaori's sake when she doesn't show up for their competition.

If I had to make another prediction, I'd say that Kaori and Kousei will end up together, Tsubaki will move on from always trying to be by Kousei's side, and possbly Kaori will be able to play the violin again. But she will DEFINITELY be alive.

Thanks for reading my predictions for these 2 series! If any inspiration strikes while I'm watching other anime, I'll be sure to post them here.
